There is no way around it – this is THE ultimate amp for clean and edge of breakup tones. After having played and owned a lot of the most desirable vintage and boutique amps this one is simply meant to be the best clean amp and it delivers big time.
It has an incredible mixture of traits that make it so perfect for cleaner tones – it is dynamic and extremely punchy, yet it has the right amount of compression to smooth it out just enough to not sound too strident. Takes single coils and humbuckers equally well, loads of headroom. These qualities also make it a great pedal platform amp.
It is based on the Dumble SSS version with some tweaks. Its ancestor was played by some of the biggest names in electric guitar history, including Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Mayer and Eric Johnson, just to name drop a few of the highest caliber users.
The set is more focused on the amps strengths – clean and edge of breakup gain levels as well as with various pedals in front, which it also takes beautifully and with a very disticnt sound quality.
